Robert
Ain, principal, is a consumer electronics industry veteran
with over
30 years of experience in almost all areas of distribution,
manufacturing and
marketing of consumer electronics. His retail
background during the 1970s led to his development of systems
and procedures to
optimize purchasing strategies, inventory
management and vendor relations for
custom retailers. During the
past 15 years, he has worked closely
with PARA (Professional Audio Retailers Association)
and many individual retailers
conducting numerous seminars and workshops on marketing,
merchandising, cash
flow, buying and inventory management.
During
the last two decades, he has held senior and board level management positions
at
several prestigious audio companies including Boston Acoustics, Polk Audio, KEF
America
(a division of Gold Peak Hong Kong) and ADCOM.
In these positions, Mr. Ain was
responsible for sales, marketing and numerous
successful product designs. The success
of these designs was a reflection of his integration of all aspects of product
development
from the conception of the idea to creating dealer acceptance and consumer demand.
Mr.
Ain is actively involved in CEDIA, an organization for custom installation
industry.
He has developed a number of courses for custom installers and is both
the SME
(Subject Matter Expert) in video and a certified CEDIA instructor. He
has had
numerous articles published in a wide variety of publications including
CE Pro,
Audio/Video International, Luxury Living, PARAgram, Stereophile and is currently,
a monthly column in Custom Retailer.
